Jill Schmidt

Jill Schmidt likes calm, relaxing puzzles, but most days she feels like she’s playing a live version of Tetris, fitting colorful shapes and other elements together in attractive patterns within a finite space, all while the clock is ticking.

Jill has worked in advertising design and illustration since the dark ages before computers. She worked as a designer in the Nordstrom and Eddie Bauer advertising departments and has illustrated several children’s books. She has designed logos for start-ups, real estate firms, and construction company clients. She’s also illustrated children’s books, educational posters, handbags, art for tattoos, and, of course, puzzles. She was a City of Redmond Arts Commissioner and a board member of ArtsEd Washington and turned lessons created by the Redmond Arts Commission into a well-designed 70-lesson set for the ArtsEd Washington organization to use throughout the state of Washington.
