Newsletter Puzzles for February 2011

(Show instructions)

BoshidokuTM puzzles are Sudoku-like logic puzzles that use common words instead of numbers. Using logic and your knowledge of English, fit each letter into the grid so that you can read words in every row and column. The name Boshidoku comes from the Japanese words for "vowel" (bo'in 母音) and "consonant" (shi'in 子音). Boshi also means "mother and child."

The rules for Boshidoku are simple. Make a different word in each row and column by placing each consonant into one of the cells to the right in the same row, and each vowel into one of the cells below in the same column. Some of the letters may already be given in the grid.

Using the keyboard: Type the letters you want and use the cursor keys to move around the grid. Press space to clear a cell.

Using the mouse/touchscreen: Click on any cell to select it and click on any letter to move that letter to the selected cell. Double click a cell to clear it.

Click the ? or type a ? to get a hint and it will fill in the correct value for the current cell.
