Brian Greer (autocorrected Brain Greyer, aka Brendan, Virgilius, Jed) has been constructing crosswords for close on fifty years. He studied mathematics, psychology, and education, and worked for a long time at Queen’s University, Belfast and for a short time at San Diego State. In quasi-retirement, he continues to write polemics on the politics of mathematics education (http://youtu.be/QNrJ1QfAMUM). He contributes puzzles to the major London newspapers, especially The Times (since 1975), for which he was Crossword Editor, 1995-2000. He was Crossword Editor for The Independent in 2004. He has also published in GAMES magazine and the New York Times.
Brian lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Swapna and their cat Gulabi Phutki (Pink Dot), except when they are in India or elsewhere.
